If I transfer to a university from a community college does tuition cost more?

This is my second semester at a community college and I’m thinking of transferring to UAlbany, I wanted to know if tuition will be less if someone was to transfer from a community college.

I’m currently in the process of transferring to a 4 year in CA and the tuition is the same for transfers as for non-transfers. You could apply for scholarships or FAFSA if you need help to pay for tuition.

I just transferred to a four year college from a two year (community) college. They do not charge you any more or less if you are a transfer student.
Most colleges charge you tuition based on when you started to take classes at their institution. For example, even though I started community college in Summer 2005, I am charged the same tuition as a student who started Summer 2008 (the semester I started classes at the four year school.)
The only reason why your school should charge you more tuition is if you are from out of state, or have not lived in the district for more than 2 years. Residency requirements vary from school to school.

    Good luck on transferring!
