Last Fall ('05), the Science and Engineering Research Symposium was
piloted with over 90 students participating. This event was held to
expose students from all over California to the many career options,
experiences and resources available in engineering, mathematics and the
sciences. The symposium provided students with seminars conducted by
industry and academic speakers discussing and sharing their experiences
about many of the unique career options available to students once they
become a part of the professional world. Roundtable forums were also
held for students to interact with industry, academia and peer mentors
by major. This symposium provided a venue to showcase the research and
work done by B A STAR and MESA students through the poster competition.
